FADE IN: EXT.  THE FUTURE. Somewhere in Eastern Washington near the Idaho border. We see a single-story house with a barbed wire fence in a vast swath of land surrounded by grassy hills, the light of sunrise sweeps over the property slowly displacing the shadow of the beginning day. JOEL, and DARA mill about, she's feeding chickens, and he's feeding hogs. Suddenly there's a commotion at the top of their long dirt driveway, Joel, and Dara look up to see someone on an off-road motorcycle flying through the air, then crashing at landing, the rider, (VON) tumbles, his body slamming into the fortified gate of Joel's compound. JIMMY wildly fishtails his dune buggy creating a dust cloud as he drives down to the fence perimeter in hot pursuit of Von. Dara runs to the porch, and grabs the leaning rifle, then quickly delivers the weapon to Joel.
