INT. COASTAL OCEAN BEACH CAVE - NIGHT

APSH, a beautiful middle-aged woman of one of the human tribes during the last age of the

NEANDERTHALS and WIFE of the tribe's OLDER BUT FIT MALE LEADER who is named OOMA

speak with each other in hand signs with a few words spoken in-between. We see HAKI, a female

Neanderthal in her twenties that has more human features and sandy blonde hair imprisoned in a sturdy

log cage. The huge fire near the entrance of the cave casts enough light to see SHOG and GOH, two

strong looking male humans tending to the few HORSES the SMALL TRIBE has, and the two

BLACK MALE (GAHEY) and FEMALE (KAYAH) COUPLE, also gathered by the horses drops

off handfuls of collected grass, we see them take turns feeding the horses. Ooma and Apsh go closer to

the fire to warm themselves. Ooma glances at Haki for a moment. Apsh raises her hand to get

Ooma's attention. She has a stick and draws in the dirt. He looks confused.

                                                                APSH

                                    (baby in belly motion)

                                                    Eektaktoh.

                                                                OOMA

                                    (nods)

                                                    Aaah. Eektaktoh.

Ooma looks over at the cage now more curious than ever about Haki. He stands from his

crouching position and heads toward Haki's makeshift prison.

                                                                                                                            CUT TO:

                                                                                                                                                                3.

INT. CAGE - CONTINUOUS

We see Ooma in the cage with Haki, he reaches out his hand slowly to her belly, she slaps him

across the face as hard as she can, and he raises his fist to hit her back, but Apsh yells loudly to

stop him. Apsh joins them in the cage and she reaches out in the same manner to touch Haki's

belly, Haki let's her. Apsh grabs Ooma's hand and pulls it toward Haki's belly, she lets him lay

his hand on her slightly extended stomach along with Apsh's. Ooma bends down and puts his ear

to Haki's belly to listen. He nods yes and smiles. A commotion at the horses area break up the

moment in the cage and everyone's attention is diverted to the opposite end of the cave. PULL

FOCUS TO THE HORSES, Shog and Goh try to calm the horses erratic behavior. PULL FOCUS

BACK TO THE CAGE, Ooma rushes out of the cage, Apsh closes the cage door and clasps it

securely, Haki is confused but only for a few seconds. Ooma has his spear in hand on the ready.

The horsemen, the African couple and all others rush to get their weapons just in time to see a GIANT

BEAR MOSEY INTO THE ENTRANCE OF THE CAVE. The bear raises itself to stand and nearly

hits its head on the roof of the cave, then FALLS back down on its enormous paws only to collapse

fully out of breath and desperately clinging to life. CLOSE ON THE BEAR, a pool of blood

gathers under the bear's body, its breathing shallow and weak. A PAIR OF SABERTOOTH TIGERS

STROLL INTO THE CAVE and start to pull the bear back out onto the beach away from the cave.

The entire tribe holding spears high in the air and ready to fight for their lives at any moment stay

frozen as if they were a scene in the Smithsonian. Shog quickly picks up more wood and throws it

on the fire, then the whole tribe rushes to grab wood to also throw on the fire. The cave fire

becomes a bonfire and they stay close to it. Apsh opens the cage door and walks out and signals

Haki to follow, they group with the rest around the fire.

EXT. COASTAL BEACH - DAY

We see the tribe depart the cave deliberately cautious, the two tigers lay near the carcass of the giant

bear with fat bellies and bloodied faces - content they ignore the humans except for a roar here and

there as a reminder to not enter their space. The humans and Haki glance back frequently at the tigers

just in case as they create distance between them and the terrifying beasts. Ooma signals to the rest to

watch the cliffs as well.

CROSSFADE:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH - DUSK

The traveling band of humans and one neanderthal stop on the shores to camp for the night.

People immediately go into action of settling in, gathering firewood, and building their animal skin

teepees.

CUT TO:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH - NIGHT

The tribe gathers around the large fire cooking crabs and small fish on flat rocks next to the fire.

Ooma, Apsh and Haki sit together. Ooma draws in the sand where Haki can see. He points to his brow,

then at the many dots in the sand. He looks at Haki and wipes away the dots, so it goes from many to

a few dots left. Haki stands and acts out a coughing fit and vomiting motions, she lays on the ground

and closes her eyes and sticks out her tongue, she adds a couple convulsions to the play, then lies

completely still. Ooma and Apsh look at each other knowingly as if they have confirmation from what

they suspected. Haki pops up solemn with teary eyes. Ooma admonishes Shog with an angry look for

smiling at Haki's acted out scene, Shog quickly wipes his smile and turns in shame, then goes and

tends to the horses. Haki draws one dot in the sand, points to her brow, raises her spear and does a

throwing motion, then puts her spear down referring to the lone male neanderthal they captured and

killed that she and KARG witnessed from afar before she was captured herself. Ooma wipes the dot

away then acts out coughing and vomiting just as Haki did. Haki nods in agreement.

                                                                HAKI

                                                    Wusha wusha ooowushashi.

Ooma looks confused. Haki draws a long curve in the sand and points from where they came from.

Apsh interrupts and adds to the curved line, then points far north, a two-finger walking motion and

pokes the stick in the sand down the far south end of the line. Haki points north crying now and puts

her hand to her heart.

                                                                HAKI

                                                    Karg.

Ooma and Apsh glance at each other for a moment. Haki looks around at the tribe and notices

they're all staring with fascination and empathy.

                                                                                                                                FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH CAVE - DAY

The two saber tooth tigers sleep near the carcass of the giant bear just outside the cave. A few GIANT

BEARS appear and the tigers wake up to multiple loud bear roars. The tigers roar and growl back, the

bears CHARGE IN UNISON startling the enormous cats, one runs into the water and the other runs

off down the beach turning and disappearing within the inland forest. The four bears start to eat the

dead bear and the tiger in the ocean gets swept away in the rip current while it fights desperately

trying to swim back to shore.

CUT TO:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH INLAND - CONTINUOUS

We see Karg rolling around in a puddle of wet sand near the tree line, he sniffs himself and makes a

face. With spear in hand, he crouches and jogs south following the shoreline and toward smoke

rising high into the sky far in the distance.

CUT TO:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH HUMAN CAMP - CONTINUOUS

We see various tribe people doing chores and sitting weaving baskets, others mull about while a few

are scattered around the camp perimeter as danger lookouts. Gahey breaks the surface of the water with

a large fish on his spear, he raises it high to show it off and yells to get noticed.

                                                                GAHEY

                                                    Pichee contuu!

Kayah breaks the surface of the water shortly after also with fish on her spear, and a large crab in the

other hand. She skewers the crab on her spear and heads to shore behind Gahey. The Tribe whoops

and yells back in encouragement and thanks. We see Goh ride up on his horse and dismount with

urgency. Everyone looks at him with wonder as he makes his way through the camp toward a towering

teepee that has smoke escaping from the top located in the center of the temporary village.

                                                                                                                                CUT TO:

INT. OOMA AND APSH TEEPEE - CONTINUOUS

Goh abruptly opens the flap of the entrance to Ooma's and Apsh's astonishment. Startled and

caught being intimate the leader and his wife sit up covering themselves with fur skins out of

modesty and Ooma admonishes Goh.

                                                                OOMA

                                (waves Goh away)

                                                    Ah! Ah Ki Ah O!

                                                                GOH

                                                    Karg, hoohaee ahku.

Ooma and Apsh look at each other, then look back at Goh and see Haki now in their tent as well.

                                                                HAKI

                                    (grabs Goh's arm)

                                                    Karg, hoohaee?

Goh draws the coastline on the ground and points to where Karg was seen during scouting.

Ooma does hands signs of building a trap, then imitates a saber tooth cat roar. Ooma draws a

semblance of the animal and drags his finger on the ground from the cat to the point of where

Karg was last seen. Apsh stares at Haki, holds up one finger, then engulfs it with her other hand

mimicking an animal attack. She shakes her head no at Haki, then acts out a spear throw outward

while roaring like the great cat with foot long fangs. All nod yes to each other in agreement.

CUT TO:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH CAMP - NIGHT

We see Kayah, Gahey, Shog, and Goh gathered around the HORSES TIED TO A TREE by a rock

outcrop not far from the sea shoreline. The camp is within a few yards from the tree also with the

SAND TRAP solidly in the middle between the water and the bait. Haki walks up to the group

from out of one of the shelters. Shog is crying while petting one of the horses. Four of them give

Haki a dirty look but quickly change their expression to less judgmental and just look away from her.

The horses sense something and become restless, the crew go on high alert and peer in the darkness,

but can't see anything, they grip their spears tighter and try to be quiet, the wind and the waves lapping

is all they can hear.

                                                                                                                                FADE OUT:

FADE IN:

EXT. COASTAL BEACH CAMP - CONTINUOUS

Calm. The horses act normal, the alert passes, only the wind and ocean is heard. The horsemen,

the Kemetian couple, and Haki stay quiet, waiting and not ready to fully relax. The whole of the camp

stays hidden and no activity could be seen. PAN, ANGLE ON Gahey and Kayah.

                                                                GAHEY

Neemhu deem wotney hurf non sweyt.

(Not fair sacrificing our horses for her.)

                                                                KAYAH

                                                    Husweyt huut nyruumyt nuweyhu.

(She's part of the tribe, our people now.)

                                                                GAHEY

Iw hur shni nuhuum, hoof wuum musuupahs.

(We must hide now, spears ready.)

                                                                KAYAH

                                                    Huhka, hribuan Haki?

                                                   (Wait, where is Haki?)

PAN TO THE BEACH, PULL FOCUS, AND ZOOM - We see Haki standing near the shoreline

letting the gentle laps of sea flow over her feet. A Glimpse of SUNRISE on the far horizon of the

OCEAN serves as her backdrop. The SABER TOOTH TIGER LIES LOW A FEW YARDS AWAY

FROM Haki blending in with the sand, she is oblivious of the patient great cat waiting for it's

moment to pounce. A CONCH SHELL HORN IS BLOWN AND HEARD LOUDLY.

CUT TO:

EXT. OOMA'S/APSH'S TEEPEE - CONTINUOUS

Ooma bursts out of the door flap with Apsh right behind - both carrying spears. PULLBACK to reveal

all the inhabitants of the makeshift village doing the same, and all are screaming as loud as they can.

They are all in pursuit of the great cat while the beast chases Haki down the shoreline at the waters

edge. The tiger runs behind Haki with trepidation for fear of the water, but still closes the gap

between itself and her quickly. The tribe runs toward them with good speed, while yelling wildly but

steady at the same time, they can't get within range to kill the beast in time, THE TIGER LEAPS,

but goes over Haki's head, she ducks instinctively, and falls backwards to the ground half on sand and

half in water. The two horse's whinny's echo in the distance, they APPEAR IN FRAME TO JOIN THE

CHASE with Shog and Goh on their backs galloping to catch up and kicking sand high into the air.

Suddenly everybody stops in their tracks as the tiger creeps toward Haki, but now facing and seeing

the large intimidating group of humans only yards away and in spear throwing range - the tiger

hesitates, it roars loud if anything out of fear. The predator becomes the prey. A SPEAR FLIES

FROM OVER A SANDHILL AND PIERCES THE NECK OF THE GREAT CAT THROUGH AND

THROUGH. The tiger falls instantly with a thud, and splashes down partially in the water, blood

flows and turns the surrounding sea red. Everyone looks at where the spear came from that killed the

tiger, amazed and astonished expressions one and all. The days champion nowhere to be seen.

CLOSE ON HAKI'S FACE, Haki speaks his name softly in hope.

                                                                HAKI

                                                    Karg.
