EXT. MOUNTAINOUS RAVINE - DAY
We see KARG walking along a cliff edge, a 20- to 30-year-old male Neanderthal, but not with the look
of one. He's slightly taller, and his brow doesn't protrude as much. He looks up to glance at a BIRD
and loses his footing, he starts to slide down the cliffside, but his leather tunic gets SNAGGED on
a tree root. As Karg pulls himself back up to safety, he reveals the size and strength of his bare
muscular arms. At the top of the cliff, he reaches behind his back to feel if his spear is still there and in
tact, he pulls it out from the leather strap that holds the spear tight to his body to examine it closer, he's
satisfied. He starts walking the trail again with the BIRD now circling his head as if it was mocking
him.
CROSSFADE:
Further down the trail that travels along the ravine, Karg notices commotion down below, he hides,
but allows himself to be able to see the scene unfold. From Karg's POV he sees three other
Neanderthals arguing with hand gestures, two men one older looking with some gray hair peppered
throughout, and the other younger, obviously in his teens. Karg sees the female with them pulling on
the men's arms trying to stop them from eating some red berries from the bush they're next to.
They are also wearing leather tunics and carrying spears. The older male back hands the female,
she falls to the ground, and he positions his spear to kill her. Suddenly Karg stands up, draws his own
spear with incredible speed and throws it at the older man from the top of the ravine. Karg's spear
finds him right where it counts - the neck area, the old man neanderthal falls instantly dead. The
younger male gets in a defensive stance with his own spear pointed toward Karg, but then doubles over
and vomits, he falls to his knees for a moment. Karg and the female stare, waiting for the inevitable.
The teen neanderthal collapses flat on his stomach - his lungs release his last breath. Karg jogs a few
yards to the pierced body, then pulls his spear from the neck, he then motions to HAKI for her name.
Karg realizes after being closer to her that they are near the same age, between 20-30 years.
HAKI
Kiwuhaki. Ishwa chu, Haki.
KARG
Haki. Oosh hub hub oosh hub hub Karg.
Haki puts her hands over her ears, then points to the two dead men. Karg nods his head in
understanding. Karg notices bruises on Haki's arms and legs, he looks at her forehead and notices
her brow is LESS pronounced identical to his. He touches his brow, then points to hers. Haki's
EYES focus on his brow, then she touches her own brow with fascination in her expression.

EXT. MOUNTAINOUS RAVINE CAMP- NIGHT
We see Karg and Haki warming by a fire, a log-bush hut completely built is nearby. Haki walks over
to the dead bodies and grabs one of their spears laying there, she uses the tip to cut into the dead's
thigh. Karg RUSHES over to stop her, he knocks the spear out of her hand, she puts her hand to her
belly and gives Karg a stern look. He holds his ground and points for her to go back to sit by the
fire. She picks the spear up again and jogs away into the dark of night, he pursues. Haki returns
for a moment and surprise attacks Karg by hitting him in the gut with the butt of her spear, he folds
over, then stands upright again looking at her longingly. She spins the spear around putting the tip of
it gently against his belly keeping an angry face as she does. Haki suddenly disappears in just two
steps from the light of the fire, Karg TEARS up. He's alone again.
CUT TO:
EXT. RAVINE CAMP - CONTINUOUS
We see Karg rolling the bodies of the old and young men into a deep hole in the ground,
enough by the Moon's light to faintly be seen. The bodies fall making a loud thud.
HAKI
Karg!
Karg turns around to see Haki holding up some kind of large brown rodent in one hand and a
gnawed on snake in the other.
KARG
Ah! Enanee tu tic ta. Oo sheshe.
Karg grins and HURRIES to Haki. Haki lays the dead animals next to the fire and gestures over the
fire to build it up, then points to the hills, she hunches and makes finger fangs from her lips.
Karg makes a brief wolf cry imitation and a lion roar imitation. Haki responds with a wolf cry.
CUT TO:
INT. RAVINE CAMP LOG HUT - CONTINUOUS
We see Karg spooning Haki in darkness but with flickers of firelight making them a little
illuminated. CLOSE ON Karg smiling. PULL FOCUS to Haki's strange look on her face. She elbows
him to scoot away, Karg's smile melts into rejected sadness. Haki closes her eyes and goes to sleep.
Karg rolls over and faces away from her. Haki wakes up after a shiver and smacks Karg to get close
again. Karg spins back over to spoon her but without fully embracing. She smacks him again softly and
tugs him closer. He fully spoons her, and she goes to sleep. Karg closes his eyes, smiles briefly then
goes to sleep. The FIRE is large and crackles loudly, a wolf howls.

EXT. COASTAL OCEAN BEACH CLIFF - DAY
ONE MONTH LATER
POV from Karg and Haki.
RAIN falls heavily on Karg and Haki as they lay low on the edge of the cliff watching a band of modern
HUMANS down below milling about at the OCEAN SHORLINE. The neanderthal couple are near
enough to make out some details. They notice none of them are Neanderthals except ONE IN A
WOODEN CAGE who seems to be treated like a prisoner. Karg and Haki remain silent and hidden on
the cliff continuing to watch. The Homo sapiens at the beach camp, range in skin color with two of
them very darked skinned. A small group almost equally divided by gender, six men and five women
and the NEANDERTHAL in the cage making it seven total males on the beach.
Suddenly the ground slides out from under Haki, she starts to fall downward along with the section
of rain-soaked surface. Karg reaches out and grabs her hand, she looks at him with an expression
of intense fear, Karg is confident in his grip, he pulls her up with adrenaline fueled strength. Karg saves
Haki's life and she hugs him with a tight, lengthy, grateful embrace. They both look back at the beach
and sees the humans pointing at them. The PRISONER breaks out of the CAGE and runs, he is shot
with multiple arrows and falls dead. THREE of the HUMANS rush the cliff and start to climb toward
Karg and Haki, they RUN.

EXT. COASTAL OCEAN BEACH CLIFF - CONTINUOUS
Karg and Haki out of breath from sprinting reach a fast-moving stream, the three human men in
pursuit close in fast, the humans surround them, they shoot Karg, and two arrows hit his back, he
collapses on the bank of the stream, blood flows into the water painting it with streaks of red.
Haki screams and fights as she is taken. One of the humans pulls out the arrows from Karg's back,
then rolls him into the stream to let the flow take his body away. Karg floats downstream and
Haki's crying screams fade as the three humans disappear back over the cliff.

OCEAN BEACHES WITH A HUMAN ENCAMPMENT.
NORTHERN COAST OF EGYPT MONTHS LATER
CUT TO:
We see Karg walking along the shoreline looking at the water as it gently laps up to his feet. He
wades in at spots to look at the deeper areas. He notices a large black shadow moving around near to
him, he slowly sinks and swims under water toward the mass. He suddenly shoots up from beneath
the water with a handheld net with a few SARDINES in it wildly wriggling trying to escape. Karg
heads out and runs up to a patch of flat rocky area, but doesn't notice two MEN ON HORSES just
above him. Karg is startled, drops the net with fish, and almost runs away, but hesitates when the
Men RIDE OFF. Karg watches the RIDERS disappear in the distance. He gathers up the fish back
into the net, then runs and jogs in the direction of the riders.
CUT TO:
EXT. BEACH FOREST - CONTINUOUS
We see Karg hunched over CHIPPING away at a rock with another rock forming a SPEARHEAD.
He's naked from the waist up and the HEALED WOUNDS on his back are pronounced. He attaches
the finished spearhead to the tip of a prepped long stick, then secures it together with VINE. He
examines his work and smiles in satisfaction. Karg then takes a moment to tie his HAIR BACK
and covers his FACE WITH A BLACK ASH MIX. He gets up and continues his trek in pursuit

EXT. HUMAN ENCAMPMENT - NIGHT
Karg stealthily and silently makes his way through the camp keeping his eyes peeled, ever searching.
He stops and looks around the HUTS AND TEEPEES. His curious expression turns suspicious, he
becomes uneasy and takes a few steps back from where he came in. POV of Karg. He looks up at the
tree he's standing under only to see a large NET being held by two men dropping on top of him.
CUT TO:
ANGLE ON Karg as he fights for his life trying to escape, ALL of the inhabitants come out of their
homes and surround Karg by forming a circle, some having bows loaded with arrows and some holding
spears pointed at him while still struggling under the net. Karg breathes heavily, angry. Scared. He
screams out a name.
KARG
Haki!!
A lot of the village camp humans now surrounding Karg light torches. Haki and the Leader WALK
OUT from behind a couple of people in the first row of the circle, the flickering firelight revealing
HER FACE CLEARLY. Karg gives up the fight and with pleading eyes reaches out to her. They pull
the net off him with their weapons at the ready. The Leader glances at Haki and signals for her to
approach Karg. Haki goes to Karg and reaches out her hand to him.
HAKI
Karg.
Karg takes her hand in return. He sees that she is pregnant. He looks at her, then at the Leader, and
back at her. Haki NODS NO in the way Neanderthals do, then puts her free hand on Karg's chest.
She smiles, and cries, then hugs him wrapping both arms around his neck. The humans cheer, raising
their weapons in the air those who have them. The village camp is quiet again. Haki releases her hug.
Karg puts one hand on Haki's belly, and the other on his chest. Haki NODS YES as Neanderthals do.
FADE TO BLACK.
THE END.
